Professional's Choice strongly believes in the importance of keeping customers' personal information personal.  We will never use your information for any purpose beyond that stated or the permissions you give us.

:: Cookies
Our site uses cookies extensively to gather input entered by visiting customers.  The type of information gathered is limited to products that are added to the customer's shopping basket, and other information necessary to complete on-line purchases.

Cookies from third parties are not used in our pages.

:: IP Addresses and Server Logs
Our site does record IP addresses and produce server logs (as all web servers do).  This information is used solely for monitoring the volume of traffic the site receives and measuring the number of visitors.  We do not use the information to track the activities of specific visitors to the site, unless we become aware of unusual activity that warrants monitoring of traffic on our servers.

:: Advertising
Our site may (on certain occasions) contain links to various third-party web sites and display advertisements from third-parties through third-party advertisement servers (e.g., DoubleClick, Inc.).  Concerned users can opt out of any cookie systems in effect for this purpose.  This privacy policy will be updated should any third-party ad services be employed on our site.

:: Email and Online Forms
Customers who choose to subscribe to our opt-in mailing list, or complete any of our online forms, may be asked to supply personal data.  If they choose to do so, that information is recorded and may be used for broad demographic information.

If permission is granted, this information may be used to target specific customers with occasional emails informing them about current promotions and offers from Professional's Choice.

If permission is granted, this information may be used to send occasional emails containing offers from our partners.  This will only ever be provided to customers who have specifically given us permission to use their information in this way.

:: Contests & Promotional Offers
Customers who enter competitions will be asked for some personal information, but only to allow us to judge the validity of their applications and to contact them should they be declared a winner.

If permission is granted, the name, city and state of the winning customer(s) may be published on our site or announced via e-mail or other form of communication.

If permission is granted, this information may be used to send occasional emails from Professional's Choice containing offers from our partners.  This will only ever be provided to customers that have specifically given us permission to use their information in this way.

:: Publishing
We reserve the right to publish email messages and letters sent to Professional's Choice.  If the sender asks that we don't reveal his or her identity, that information will not be published.  We never publish a private email address unless specifically asked to do so by its owner.

:: The Shopping Cart
Our on-line store inevitably records some personal data, including names, addresses and credit card details.

Detailed credit card information is not stored on our servers.  Pertinent credit card information is discarded once a transaction is approved by the processor.  Professional's Choice employees do not have access to detailed credit card information submitted by on-line customers, except for the information provided by the credit card processor.

If permission is granted, this information may be used to target specific users with promotional information offered by Professional's Choice.

If permission is granted, this information may be used to send occasional e-mails from Professional's Choice containing offers from our partners.  This will be provided solely to readers who have specifically given us permission to use their information in this way.

:: Data Encryption
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information.  SSL encryption is designed to make the information unreadable by anyone but us.  This security measure is working when you see either the symbol of a closed lock [

Encryption services are provided by Thawte.  Credit card numbers provided by customers are used only for processing payment and are not used for other purposes.
